Diagnosed intermittent heating issue on propane water heater in mountain cabin. found corroded thermocouple preventing reliable pilot operation. replaced component and cleaned burner assembly which had dust buildup. also found improper ventilation causing downdrafts - adjusted flue pipe position to improve draft. system now firing consistently and maintaining temperature. added pipe insulation to exposed lines to prevent freezing during winter months. cabin is good to go now!
tough job @ cabin property today... multiple drainage issues! main line had significant root intrusion requiring heavy-duty cutting heads. also found collapsed section ~25ft from cleanout that will need excavation & repair (scheduled for next week). cleared what we could for now, but gave homeowner detailed explanation of needed repairs. will follow up tomorrow with quote.
